How much does a Google CSS cost: pricing models, public prices and when it pays off

A partner CSS costs between nothing and a few hundred euros a month depending on the model: flat fee, percentage of ad spend or bundled in an agency fee. Public prices of the main CSSs in Europe (October 2026) and a simple calculation to see from which budget it is worth it.

"How much does a CSS cost?" has three answers, because there are three pricing models. The difference between the models matters more than the difference between prices: on a €2,000 monthly ad budget, a 3% commission costs three times more than the most expensive flat fee on the market. Below are the models, the public prices of the CSSs most stores in Europe compare, and the calculation that tells you from which budget it pays off.

The three pricing models

ModelHow you payGood forThe catch
Flat monthly feeA fixed amount per store (or per domain) per month, whatever your budget. Bigconvert CSS: €18.99/monthAny store with an ad budget above ~€150/monthCheck whether the price is per store, per domain or per country; with 5 countries some CSSs charge 5 times
Percentage of ad spend1–5% of what you spend in Google AdsVery small budgets (under €150/month)Grows with the budget; at €2,000/month, 3% is €60, three times a flat fee
Bundled in an agency feeNo separate charge; the agency manages your campaigns and puts you on its CSSStores that want an agency anywayYou cannot take the CSS without the agency; change agency and you lose the CSS too

Public prices of CSSs available across Europe (October 2026)

The list uses the prices shown publicly on each provider's website at the date of this article. Prices change; check each site before deciding. Competitors are included because a comparison without them helps nobody.

The important observation: among flat-fee providers the differences are a few euros a month. The cost-per-click saving is the same at all of them, because it comes from Google's auction rule, not from the CSS. What differs is support, extra tools, countries covered and how fast they activate you.

From which budget it pays off: the calculation

Monthly saving = your Google Shopping budget × the real saving rate (realistically 10–20%). Cost = the subscription. It pays off when the saving clearly exceeds the fee.

Shopping budget / monthSaving at 10%Saving at 20%Fee €18.99Net (at 15%)
€150€15€30€18.99≈ +€3.50
€500€50€100€18.99≈ +€56
€2,000€200€400€18.99≈ +€281
€10,000€1,000€2,000€18.99≈ +€1,481

In practice: below €100–150 a month of budget a flat-fee CSS barely pays for itself; above €300 a month it becomes one of the cheapest optimisations available, because it needs no work after activation.

Hidden costs to check before you sign

  • Set-up or activation fee. There should be none: activation is an approval in Merchant Center.
  • Fixed-term contract (6–12 months) or notice period. With Bigconvert CSS you cancel any time from the client portal, no penalty.
  • Price per country. If you sell in 5 countries, ask explicitly whether you pay once or 5 times.
  • Access to your Google Ads account. A self-service CSS does not need it. If you are asked for admin access, ask why.
  • VAT. Prices above exclude VAT. EU companies with a valid VAT number pay without VAT (reverse charge).

Is there a free CSS?

There are two cases where you do not pay directly: a CSS bundled in an agency fee (you pay the agency) and the 14–30 day free trials some CSSs offer. A permanently free CSS with no other service attached does not exist, because running a CSS has costs (a comparison site with thousands of products, certifications, support) and Google does not pay CSSs.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Bigconvert CSS cost?expand_more

€18.99 per month per store, plus VAT where applicable. No commission on your budget, no set-up fee, no fixed-term contract. Cancel any time.

Is the 20% saving the same at every CSS?expand_more

Yes. The saving comes from Google's auction rule (about 80% of the bid enters the auction through Google's CSS, 100% through a partner CSS), not from the provider. Providers differ in price, support, tools and countries.

Do I pay for clicks to the CSS?expand_more

No. Clicks are still paid to Google Ads, exactly as before. You pay the CSS only the subscription.

From which budget is a CSS worth it?expand_more

From about €150 a month of Google Shopping budget the fee pays for itself; from €300 up the saving is several times the cost.
